Byton showcased its M-Byte electric SUV at the Consumer Electronics Show 2020 in Las Vegas. It was earlier unveiled at the Frankfurt Auto Show in 2019.

The electric SUV comes with an innovative cockpitcentred around a 48-inch curved display. It stretches from one end of the dashboard to the other.

Users can interact with the displaythrough a 7-inch driver tablet, 8-inch front passenger tablet, gesture control and voice commands.

The electric SUV comes with a 72kWh battery with a range of 360kms in a single charge. It also gets an extended version with 95kWh battery that can stretch the range to up to 460kms. Byton claims that the SUV can cover around 100kms with a 10-minute fast charge.

The company claims that the car can attain up to 80% charge in 35 minutes with the help of DC fast charging, which is up to 150kW.

The entry level M-Byte with a single rear-mounted electric motor will provide peak output of 200kW (272 PS). The 4WD high level configuration is rated 300kW (408 PS).

The production of the electric SUV is set to start this year in China. The M-Byte will go on sales in China in the first half of 2020. Byton plans to start production of M-Byte for the Chinese market in the middle of 2020. Byton expects to start taking pre-orders in Europe and North America in 2020 followed by market entry in each in 2021.
