Ducati DesertX: Product Bio
Overview
Ducati has unveiled the second-generation DesertX at its World Première 2026 showcase, confirming that the adventure motorcycle will arrive in India in Q4 2026. The updated model receives a new engine, revised chassis and enhanced electronics, strengthening its positioning as a serious off-road-focused ADV.
Built around Ducati’s latest engineering platform, the new DesertX aims to deliver improved torque spread, better mass centralisation and enhanced rider control across terrains.
Ducati DesertX: Pricing & Variants
Ducati has not yet announced pricing for the second-generation DesertX. The motorcycle will be offered in a single standard variant, finished in Matt Star White Silk. India-specific pricing details are expected closer to launch.
Ducati DesertX: Launch Date
The second-generation DesertX is scheduled to launch in India in the fourth quarter of 2026, following its global debut at Ducati’s World Première 2026 event.
Ducati DesertX: Features
The motorcycle is equipped with a new 5-inch TFT display offering multiple information layouts and navigation support. Electronics are governed by a six-axis IMU and include Cornering ABS with four levels, Ducati Traction Control, Wheelie Control, Engine Brake Control and Ducati Quick Shift 2.0.
There are six riding modes on offer — Sport, Touring, Urban, Wet, Enduro and Rally — allowing riders to tailor the bike’s behaviour to different riding conditions.
Ergonomic updates include repositioned footpegs, handlebars and seat for improved rider comfort and control. The 18-litre polymer fuel tank has been redesigned to centralise mass, while a higher front mudguard improves ground clearance for off-road riding.
Ducati DesertX: Specifications
Powering the motorcycle is Ducati’s new 890cc V2 twin-cylinder engine, producing 110hp at 9,000rpm and 92Nm of torque at 7,000rpm. Ducati claims that 70 per cent of peak torque is available from as low as 3,000rpm. Service intervals are set at 15,000km for oil changes and 45,000km for valve clearance checks.
The engine acts as a stressed member within a dedicated monocoque frame, complemented by a trellis rear subframe. Suspension duties are handled by a fully adjustable 46mm KYB upside-down fork with 230mm of travel and a KYB monoshock with progressive linkage offering 220mm of travel.
Braking is managed by Brembo M4.32 radial callipers paired with dual 305mm front discs. The DesertX rides on 21-inch front and 18-inch rear tubeless spoked wheels wrapped in Pirelli Scorpion Rally Street tyres. Wet weight without fuel stands at 209kg.
Ducati DesertX: Rivals
Upon its India launch, the DesertX will compete with premium middleweight adventure motorcycles such as the Triumph Tiger 900 Rally Pro, BMW F 900 GS and KTM 890 Adventure R.
