The Maruti Suzuki Alto made its debut in 2012, and its 800cc version was called the Alto 800. The new-generation Maruti Suzuki was introduced in 2019 with significant upgrades and starts selling at 3.15 Lakh Rs. Alto's engine has been upgraded to meet BS-VI standards and the body shell has been improved to meet the latest crash-test standards.

Looks and built

The petal-shaped headlamps, body panels, doors, boot lid, and rear bumper from the previous Alto have been carried forward. The latest version of India's most popular car features a new front bumper with a big air dam and honeycomb-style plastic mesh. Fog lamps are available, however they may only be purchased as paid add-ons. The front grille has been updated as well, with a black surround. The new Alto is also 50mm longer than the previous model, which was 3,395mm long. This length increase is related to a revised bumper design that aids the Alto in complying with pedestrian safety rules that took effect in 2020.

Riding ergonomics

There are three versions of the Maruti Alto. From the LXi variation onwards, air conditioning, power steering, and front power windows are standard; the top VXi variant adds central locking and keyless entry, as well as a SmartPlay Dock 2-DIN audio player in higher trims that supports Bluetooth, USB, and AUX, as well as AM/FM radio.

Engine and power

The 2019 Alto is powered by the same three-cylinder 796cc F8D petrol engine as the previous model, which is mated to a 5-speed manual transmission.
