The new Tiguan R-Line will be the top-spec of the SUV and will be launched alongside the Golf GTI hatchback. The sportier SUV is based on the standard Tiguan with mechanical, functional, and cosmetic upgrades. Bookings are currently open for the SUV with six colour options for the buyer to choose from.

The Volkswagen Tiguan R-Line is expected to be launched with an ex-showroom price tag of approximately ₹50 lakh. This is the top-spec of the SUV and it will arrive in CBU guise.

What variants and colour options will be available with the Volkswagen Tiguan R-Line?

The new-gen Tiguan R-Line will be available in one fully loaded variant as it is arriving via the CBU route. It will be available in six colour options which are Persimmon Red Metallic, Nightshade Blue Metallic, Grenadilla Black Metallic, Oryx White (with Mother of Pearl effect), Cipressino Green Metallic and Oyster Silver Metallic.

The Volkswagen Tiguan R-Line’s cabin boasts a tech-savvy layout, highlighted by a new 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster and a 15.1-inch freestanding touchscreen infotainment system based on the latest MIB4 UI. The new Tiguan will remain configured as a five-seater and features full HD Matrix LED headlights connected by a lightbar that stretches across the front end.

What are the engine, performance, and specifications of the Volkswagen Tiguan R-Line?

The new-gen Volkswagen Tiguan R-Line is expected to draw its power from a 2.0-litre TSI turbo petrol engine. This motor churns out 201 bhp and 320 Nm of peak torque and will be paired with a seven-speed DSG. While the Tiguan R-Line is available with a six-speed manual in the global markets, the option will be excluded from VW’s India lineup.

The global-spec Tiguan includes features such as Dynamic Chassis Control Pro for the adaptive suspension system, as well as twin-valve variable dampers with a Vehicle Dynamics Manager (VDM) system. It will be interesting to see if the India-spec model will come equipped with these features.
