VinFast VF6: Overview

The VinFast VF6 is the smaller of the two SUVs introduced by the Vietnamese carmaker in India, positioned as a compact, family-oriented electric SUV. First showcased at the Bharat Mobility Global Expo 2025, it represents VinFast’s mass-market entry into the country’s growing EV landscape. Designed with urban practicality in mind, the VF6 brings contemporary styling, modern features, and multiple powertrain options to appeal to a wide range of customers. The SUV will be locally assembled at VinFast’s upcoming facility in Thoothukudi, Tamil Nadu, with exports also planned for neighbouring South Asian markets.

The VinFast VF6 has been officially launched in India at an introductory price of ₹16.49 lakh (ex-showroom). With this aggressive pricing, VinFast’s intends to appeal to budget-conscious buyers.

The VinFast VF6 was launched in India alongside the larger VF7 in September 2025. Bookings for the model opened prior to launch at a refundable token amount of ₹21,000, with deliveries expected to commence soon after. The launch marks the brand’s formal entry into India, aligning with its global strategy of expanding into key emerging markets.

VinFast VF6: Variants & Colours

The VF6 is offered in three trims: the Earth, Wind, and Wind Infinity. The Earth variant comes with a single motor producing 174.3 bhp and 250 Nm, while the Wind variant steps up with a single motor tuned for 201 bhp and 310 Nm of torque. Both deliver a certified range of 468 km under ARAI testing, though the Wind is notably quicker, with a claimed 0–100 kmph time of 8.9 seconds. The Wind Infinity carries forward the same mechanical setup but gains an added panoramic sunroof that enhances the cabin experience. Customers can also choose from multiple exterior colour options, giving the compact SUV both variety and appeal.

Both the Earth and Wind trims are equipped with a battery pack offering an ARAI-certified range of 468 km, placing it among the more capable mass-market EVs in India. The SUV supports fast-charging solutions and is backed by VinFast’s 7-year or 2,00,000 km warranty.

The VF6 has been designed with practicality and premium appeal in mind. The interiors make use of vegan leather materials on the dashboard and trims, along with metal inlays for a premium touch. A 12.9-inch infotainment display with modern connectivity options sits at the centre. Other features include 90-watt Type-C charging ports, piano-style gear selectors, acoustic windshield, and 8-way power-adjustable seats. Higher trims benefit from the addition of an edge-to-edge panoramic sunroof. The SUV also offers unique functionalities such as Pet Mode and Camp Mode and an intelligent virtual assistant.
