VinFast VF 3: Overview
The VinFast VF 3 marks the Vietnamese automaker’s entry into the Indian compact electric vehicle segment. Showcased at the Bharat Mobility Global Expo 2025, this micro SUV is expected to be launched in the country in early 2026. As the brand’s most affordable model globally, the VF 3 is positioned as a compact, rear-wheel-drive city electric vehicle with a distinctive boxy silhouette and basic urban-oriented features. With its compact footprint and minimalist design, the VF 3 is expected to serve as the entry point to VinFast’s India portfolio.

The VinFast VF 3 is likely to be offered in two variants—Eco and Plus—though official variant-wise details are yet to be confirmed. The model is expected to be priced between ₹7.50 lakh and ₹10.00 lakh, ex-showroom. When launched, it will be available in a single powertrain configuration with a rear-mounted electric motor. Positioned below the VF 6 and VF 7 in VinFast’s India lineup, the VF 3 is expected to be the brand’s most accessible offering.

The VF 3 adopts a tall and upright stance with a boxy structure and a two-door configuration. At 3190 mm in length, 1679 mm in width, and 1622 mm in height, it maintains compact proportions, while a ground clearance of 191 mm and 16-inch alloy wheels offer enhanced urban maneuverability. Its front design features a sealed grille with the VinFast logo in chrome, accompanied by LED headlamps and black bumpers. The side profile is marked by prominent wheel arches and a single large door on each side. At the rear, the VF 3 sports connected LED taillamps and a chrome-accented logo.
Inside, the cabin is minimalistic with an integrated 10-inch touchscreen infotainment system, front power windows, manual air conditioning, cruise control, and connected car technology. A digital instrument cluster is not provided; instead, essential driving information is displayed within the infotainment screen. The two-spoke steering wheel and folding second-row seats enhance both style and practicality.
VinFast VF 3: Battery and Range
The VinFast VF 3 is equipped with a rear-mounted electric motor that generates 43.5 PS and 110 Nm of torque. The motor is paired with an 18.64 kWh lithium-ion battery pack, delivering a claimed range of up to 215 km on the NEDC test cycle. The vehicle can accelerate from 0 to 50 km/h in 5.3 seconds, designed to suit short-distance city commutes. Using DC fast charging, the battery can be recharged from 10 percent to 70 percent in approximately 36 minutes. The VF 3 uses a rear-wheel-drive layout and features a 2075 mm wheelbase, offering compact yet usable interior space.

Once launched in India, the VinFast VF 3 will enter a niche yet growing segment of compact electric cars. Its primary rival will be the MG Comet EV, followed by the Tata Tiago EV and the Tata Tigor EV.
