Since its major facelift, it has evolved from being just a ‘tough’ SUV into a genuinely high-tech, premium machine. However, it still carries some of the classic Tata ‘character’—meaning it excels in most areas but may require a bit of patience in others.
The manual gearbox feels a bit rubbery. Sometimes second gear is hard to slot. Tata should work on making the shifts smoother.
Huge mirrors and high seating means you see everything. Blind spot monitor in the dash is a great touch. Very easy to drive in narrow streets.
Picked the new petrol AT. It is very silent and vibration free. Mileage is around 11 kmpl. Performance is adequate for city and highway.
JBL speakers with subwoofer is insane. Don't need any aftermarket upgrades. Sound is clear even at high volumes. Truly a premium experience.
Paid around 12k for second service which is okay for a car of this size. Parts are not too expensive. Engine is reliable so far.
For the price of a mid-spec Creta, I got a base Harrier which is much bigger and safer. If you want a proper SUV feel, go for this.
The parking sensors are very sensitive and keep beeping in traffic. It gets annoying sometimes. But I guess it is better than hitting something.
Front seats have good side bolstering. I dont get back pain even after 4 hours of driving. Underthigh support in rear is also very good.
LED headlights have great throw and spread. Auto high beam feature is very useful on highways. Cabin lighting also feels very premium at night.
In red color, it looks like an Italian car. The design language is very modern. Everyone in my society asks about it. Best looking SUV in segment.
The engine has a nice roar when you push it. It doesn't feel underpowered even with 5 people. Overtaking on single lane roads is very easy.
My daughter loves talking to the car to open the sunroof. "Hello Tata" works most of the time. Very cool and futuristic features for kids.
Faced a slight left pulling issue since day 1. Alignment was done twice but still feels slightly off. Hope it gets fixed in next service.
Someone rear ended me at low speed and nothing happened to the Harrier, while their car front was crushed. Build quality is seriously impressive.
Sometimes the screen takes time to load or freezes during navigation. Reported to service center, they said update is coming. Engine is a beast though.
We did a family trip with 4 suitcases and they all fit easily. Practical cabin with lots of storage for bottles and phones. Ideal for long trips.
White color with black roof looks very classy. It looks bigger than some 7 seaters. The steering is light at low speeds and gets heavy at high speeds.
It glides over small bumps. You dont feel the road much inside. Very quiet cabin, NVH levels are well controlled for a diesel engine.
Disc brakes on all wheels give a lot of confidence. The car stops in a straight line even during panic braking. Safety is definitely priority here.
From design to power, Harrier is a complete package. Tata has really outdone themselves. If you want a safe, powerful and stylish SUV, look no further.
The ride is a bit stiff on 19 inch wheels. You feel sharp bumps inside the cabin. 18 inchers were more comfortable. Keep this in mind.
360 degree camera with 3D view is amazing. I can see exactly how close I am to the curb. Makes parking a breeze for such a wide car.
The built-in air purifier is very useful in polluted cities like Delhi. You can see the AQI on the screen. Small features make a big difference.
Great for night driving as it prevents glare from cars behind. Very practical feature. Auto wipers also work perfectly in rain.
