TATA Avinya

Exp. Launch on 15 Jun 2026
₹30 - 60 Lakhs*Expected price

Tata Motors showcased the Avinya X Concept at the Bharat Mobility Global Auto Expo 2025, offering a clearer look at the brand’s long-term electric mobility vision. First introduced as a concept in 2022, the Avinya nameplate has since been confirmed for production, with Tata Motors stating that the Avinya brand will enter the market in 2026. Unlike conventional model launches, Avinya is not positioned as a single vehicle in a defined segment. Instead, it will serve as a premium electric sub-brand that will underpin a range of future SUVs and MPVs.

The Avinya series will be based on Jaguar Land Rover’s EMA modular platform, highlighting a key technological collaboration within the Tata Group. The latest Avinya X Concept marks a notable shift from the original coupe-like silhouette, adopting a more crossover-focused form while retaining the clean and futuristic design philosophy introduced earlier.

Tata Avinya: Expected Price

The first production models derived from the Avinya concept are expected to be priced between ₹30 lakh and ₹60 lakh (ex-showroom). This pricing strategy will position the Avinya lineup above Tata Motors’ current electric vehicles while remaining below Land Rover’s offerings in the overall group hierarchy.

Tata Avinya: Launch Timeline

The Tata Avinya range of electric SUVs and MPVs is expected to reach dealerships before March 2026. Tata Motors has entered into a licensing agreement with Jaguar Land Rover to use the EMA platform for these models. Initially, Avinya vehicles will be sold through existing Tata Motors dealerships, with the possibility of a dedicated retail network being considered at a later stage.

Tata Avinya: Design and Features

The Avinya X Concept features a raised stance, large alloy wheels, and retractable door handles, reinforcing its crossover positioning. The lighting setup follows a minimalist approach, with seamless LED headlamps at the front and a connected LED tail-lamp design at the rear. A gloss black rear bumper further complements the clean and modern exterior theme. The concept is finished in a distinctive shade called Samudra, which Tata claims is inspired by the reflective shimmer of ocean waves.

While the full interior has not been revealed, Tata Motors has confirmed the use of sustainable materials for the cabin. Expected highlights include fabric-wrapped soundbars, concealed air vents, aroma diffusers, and lounge-style rear seating focused on comfort and relaxation. The dashboard is designed to display only essential information, in line with the brand’s emphasis on reducing driver distraction. Other elements seen on the concept include a two-spoke steering wheel, free-standing digital displays, a panoramic sunroof, multi-zone climate control, and wireless smartphone charging.

Tata Avinya: Battery, Range, and Platform

When first unveiled in 2022, the Avinya concept was presented as a premium electric vehicle built on Tata’s lightweight Gen 3 architecture, which promised a driving range of up to 500 km on a single charge. Although detailed battery specifications for the production models are yet to be revealed, Tata Motors has reiterated that Avinya will represent a significant step forward in terms of electric range, efficiency, and overall vehicle architecture. The EMA platform is expected to support multiple battery sizes and body styles across the Avinya lineup.

Tata Avinya: Rivals

Once launched, the Tata Avinya range is expected to compete with premium electric SUVs and MPVs such as the BYD Atto 3, BYD eMAX 7, and the upcoming Tata Safari EV. With its premium positioning, advanced platform, and focus on design-led electric mobility, the Avinya brand will play a key role in Tata Motors’ next phase of EV expansion in India.
