Maruti Suzuki India Limited has officially introduced the Victoris as the new flagship SUV in its Arena portfolio, positioning it above existing models such as the Brezza. With this launch, the company aims to cater to a new generation of buyers while also making the Victoris a key export model, as it will be shipped to more than 100 international markets from India. The SUV has been designed with an emphasis on safety, connectivity, and technology, and is loaded with modern features, including a fully digital cockpit, advanced driver-assistance systems (ADAS), and multiple powertrain choices. Notably, the Victoris has achieved a 5-star safety rating under Bharat NCAP crash testing, reinforcing its credentials as one of the safest vehicles offered by Maruti Suzuki.
The Maruti Victoris price starts from ₹10.50 lakh, ex-showroom, for the base petrol LXi variant. The petrol lineup is priced up to ₹17.77 lakh for the range-topping ZXi Plus (O) AT trim, while variants equipped with Suzuki’s AllGrip Select all-wheel-drive system are priced between ₹18.64 lakh and ₹19.22 lakh. The CNG variants start at ₹11.50 lakh and go up to ₹14.57 lakh, whereas the strong hybrid range is priced between ₹16.38 lakh and ₹19.99 lakh, ex-showroom.
The Victoris range is offered across multiple variants, starting with the LXi trim for the petrol engine, followed by VXi, ZXi, ZXi(O), ZXi Plus, and ZXi Plus (O). The CNG powertrain option is available in the LXi, VXi, and ZXi variants, whereas the strong hybrid range begins from the VXi variant and goes up to the ZXi Plus (O). Customers can choose from ten exterior colour options, including two new shades: Eternal Blue and Mystic Green — introduced specifically for this SUV. The model also offers a choice of two alloy wheel designs, with 17-inch dual-tone alloys available on the higher trims.
The Maruti Suzuki Victoris is available with three powertrain configurations: petrol, CNG, and strong hybrid. The standard petrol engine is a 1.5-litre naturally aspirated four-cylinder unit, paired with either a 5-speed manual gearbox or a 6-speed automatic transmission. Select higher-spec variants also get Suzuki’s AllGrip Select AWD system, making the Victoris one of the few SUVs in its segment to offer a four-wheel-drive option.
The same 1.5-litre engine is used for the factory-fitted CNG variants, which produce 87 bhp and 121 Nm of torque. These versions are available only with a manual transmission but feature an underbody-mounted CNG tank. This packaging ensures that boot space remains identical to the petrol variants, addressing one of the common compromises of CNG vehicles.
The strong hybrid powertrain has been borrowed from the Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara and pairs a 1.5-litre petrol engine with an electric motor and a locally assembled lithium-ion battery pack. This setup generates a combined output of 91 bhp and 122 Nm of torque and delivers superior fuel efficiency, making it the most economical option in the Victoris lineup.
The Victoris adopts a muscular and upright SUV design language with a vertical hood, angular LED headlamps, and a chrome strip connecting them across the front fascia. The SUV’s stance is further accentuated by its large 17-inch dual-tone alloy wheels and sculpted body lines. At the rear, it gets a full-width LED taillamp arrangement with a three-dimensional design and a powered tailgate with gesture control, adding to its convenience factor.
The Victoris brings a premium and tech-focused experience with its layered dashboard design, and depending on the chosen variant, buyers can opt for two different interior trim finishes. A 10.25-inch digital driver display works in conjunction with a similarly sized touchscreen infotainment unit, which comes pre-loaded with over 35 apps, supports Alexa voice integration, and offers OTA (over-the-air) software updates. Suzuki Connect is standard across the lineup and provides more than 60 connected car features, ranging from remote operations to safety alerts.
Creature comforts include a dual-pane panoramic sunroof, 64-colour ambient lighting, a PM 2.5 air filter to improve cabin air quality, and an 8-way powered and ventilated driver seat for added comfort. Audio duties are handled by an 8-speaker Infinity surround sound system with Dolby Atmos technology, catering to buyers seeking an immersive in-car entertainment experience.
The SUV comes equipped with six airbags, Electronic Stability Control (ESC), pedestrian protection systems, and seat belt reminders as standard across all variants. It also features a 360-degree camera for improved visibility, a heads-up display for critical driving information, and Level-2 ADAS functions such as lane-keep assist, adaptive cruise control, and autonomous emergency braking. According to Maruti Suzuki, the ADAS suite has been calibrated specifically for Indian road conditions. The Victoris’ 5-star Bharat NCAP and Global NCAP ratings underline its strong safety credentials.
The Victoris competes in the highly competitive mid-size and upper mid-size SUV segments in India. Its key rivals include the Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos, Honda Elevate, Volkswagen Taigun, Skoda Kushaq, and Toyota Urban Cruiser Hyryder.
