Maruti Suzuki e Vitara: Overview

The Maruti Suzuki e Vitara is set to be the Indian manufacturer’s first all-electric offering in the country, developed as part of its new EV strategy. Originally previewed as the eVX concept at the 2023 Auto Expo, the production version was formally unveiled at the Bharat Mobility Global Expo 2025.

Built on the new HEARTECT-e platform engineered specifically for battery-electric vehicles, the e Vitara features a flat floor, high-voltage safety structure, and compact overhangs to maximise cabin room and performance efficiency. The SUV will be offered with two battery options, with the larger pack promising a range of up to 500 km. It also debuts Maruti Suzuki’s ALLGRIP-e 4WD technology and Level-2 ADAS in India.

The Maruti e Vitara price is expected to range from ₹17 lakh to ₹22 lakh (ex-showroom). The EV has not been officially launched yet, and official pricing remains unannounced.

Maruti Suzuki e Vitara: Launch Date

The Maruti e Vitara will be officially launched in India in January 2026. The EV was first displayed in production form at the 2025 Auto Expo and was showcased in India again on December 2, 2025.

Maruti Suzuki e Vitara: Variants & Colours

The e Vitara will be available in two battery pack options: 49 kWh and 61 kWh. The smaller 49 kWh pack will be offered in a two-wheel-drive configuration producing 142 bhp and 189 Nm. The larger 61 kWh battery variant will be offered with both 2WD and 4WD configurations, with the 2WD version generating 172 bhp and 189 Nm, and the 4WD delivering a higher torque output of 300 Nm. The 61 kWh model claims a driving range of up to 500 km.

Colour choices include six monotone and four dual-tone options. Monotone shades include Nexa Blue, Arctic White, Splendid Silver, Opulent Red, Grandeur Grey, and Bluish Black. Dual-tone options feature a contrasting black roof with combinations such as Arctic White, Land Breeze Green, Splendid Silver, and Opulent Red.

The Maruti Suzuki e Vitara is equipped with a lithium iron phosphate battery pack and an integrated eAxle system that combines the motor and inverter. The 49 kWh version is restricted to 2WD and offers 142 bhp and 189 Nm. The 61 kWh variant produces up to 172 bhp in 2WD, while the 4WD variant increases torque output to 300 Nm. The 61 kWh model claims a maximum range of 500 km, while official range figures for the 49 kWh version stand at 344 km (WLTP).

The electric 4WD system, called ALLGRIP-e, uses independent front and rear eAxles and includes a Trail Mode that applies selective braking and torque redirection for enhanced off-road control.

Maruti Suzuki e Vitara: Features

The e Vitara’s cabin features squared-off air vents, a two-spoke steering wheel, and a dual-screen display setup that integrates a 10.1-inch infotainment touchscreen and a digital driver’s cluster. The EV supports wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, and includes connected car functions via Suzuki Connect.

Other features include ventilated front seats, 10-way power-adjustable driver's seat, automatic climate control, wireless charging, a panoramic sunroof, a 360-degree camera, and an electronic parking brake with auto hold. It is also the first Maruti model in India to offer Level-2 ADAS features.

Maruti Suzuki e Vitara: Safety

The Maruti Suzuki e Vitara marks the brand’s debut in offering Level-2 Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) in India. The suite includes lane keep assist, adaptive cruise control, emergency braking, and more. Standard safety features include seven airbags, ABS with EBD, electronic stability control (ESC), front and rear parking sensors, and an electronic parking brake. A Bharat NCAP safety rating is awaited at the time of launch.
