Thar LX Petrol: Built for Malls, Not Mountains
The Mahindra Thar LX Petrol RWD Hard Top is a car you buy more for your heart than for pure practicality. It packs a powerful 2.0L turbo petrol engine that’s smooth, fun, and eager to pull, delivering 197 bhp and 320 Nm torque (in automatic), making it one of the most engaging city and highway drives in this price segment. However, the downside is its fuel consumption—it happily gulps petrol, offering around 8–9 kmpl in the city and about 11–12 kmpl on highways if you drive gently. Comfort-wise, the front seats are supportive with a high SUV stance that gives a king-of-the-road feeling, but the rear seats are still best for short trips due to their upright position and limited legroom. The ride is bouncy on rough patches because of the ladder-frame chassis, so don’t expect sedan-like smoothness. In terms of safety, it’s solidly built, with dual airbags, ABS, ESP, hill-hold, and tyre pressure monitoring, though it misses out on advanced features like side airbags or ADAS. The feature list is decent with a 7-inch touchscreen supporting Android Auto/Apple CarPlay, cruise control, TPMS, and steering controls, but it skips on small conveniences like a rear wiper, rear camera in some variants, or automatic climate control. Where the Thar truly shines is in its design—it looks iconic, bold, and grabs attention everywhere, and the hard top makes it more practical for daily use without worrying about rain or dust. Perfect City Off Roader
New thar roxx style is not great as previous thar model this model is lengthy and design is bit odd which i didn't like much, coming to mileage it is decent can't expect much in 4×4 vehicle so i am happy with mileage. Seating comfort is good back row is decent, expected more leg room but i felt it was okay.
