The Citroen C3X has been launched in India with a starting price of ₹7.91 lakh (ex-showroom) as part of the company’s Citroen 2.0 “Shift Into the New” strategy. Positioned above the standard Citroen C3, the C3X brings a more premium feature set, enhanced comfort, and safety-focused upgrades while being marketed as an SUV, unlike the C3 which was dubbed a “hatch with a twist.” Built with higher localisation levels, Citroen claims the C3X is designed to deliver the best value and lowest cost of ownership while retaining the brand’s distinct character.
The Citroen C3X range is priced from ₹7.91 lakh for the 1.2-litre naturally aspirated manual variant to ₹9.89 lakh for the top-spec turbo-petrol automatic (ex-showroom). The HALO 360-degree camera system is available as a paid add-on for select trims.
The Citroen C3X was launched in August 2025, with bookings now open and deliveries scheduled to commence in early September 2025.
The C3X is offered with two petrol engine options and multiple trims, each differentiated by feature content and transmission choice. Customers can choose between naturally aspirated or turbo-petrol engines, with manual or automatic gearboxes. Colour options are expected to be similar to the standard C3 palette, with both monotone and dual-tone finishes available.
The 1.2-litre turbo-petrol variant delivers an ARAI-certified fuel efficiency of up to 19.3 km/l. Figures for the naturally aspirated version have not been disclosed but are expected to be slightly higher in everyday driving conditions.
Over the standard C3, the C3X adds 15 new features, targeting convenience, safety, and premium appeal. Key inclusions are Citroën’s Proxi-Sense Passive Entry and Push Start system, a segment-first hands-free access setup, Cruise Control with Speed Limiter, and the HALO 360-degree camera system offering seven viewing angles. Lighting has been upgraded with LED Vision projector headlamps, LED DRLs, LED projector fog lamps, and LED interior illumination. An auto-dimming IRVM is also part of the package.
Inside, the SUV receives a metropolitan leatherette-wrapped instrument panel, a 26 cm (10.25-inch) Citroen Connect touchscreen infotainment system with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, and tropicalised automatic air-conditioning tailored for Indian summers. A rear USB Type-C charging port and a 315-litre boot enhance day-to-day usability.
Under the hood, the C3X offers two petrol engines — the 1.2-litre PureTech 82 naturally aspirated unit mated to a 5-speed manual, and the 1.2-litre PureTech 110 turbocharged motor paired with either a 6-speed manual or a 6-speed automatic. The turbo variant can accelerate from 0–100 km/h in under 10 seconds. Citroen’s Advanced Comfort suspension, tuned specifically for Indian roads, is designed to deliver what the brand describes as a “flying carpet” ride quality.
Safety equipment includes six airbags, Electronic Stability Program (ESP), ABS with EBD, Hill Hold Assist, ISOFIX child seat mounts, TPMS, a high-speed alert system, and a perimetric alarm.
As of now, Citroen has not announced introductory discounts or festive schemes for the C3X. Dealer-level benefits may vary depending on location and stock availability.
The Citroen C3X will compete in the subcompact SUV space against models such as the Tata Nexon, Hyundai Venue, Kia Sonet, Nissan Magnite, Renault Kiger, and Maruti Suzuki Brezza.
