The BYD Atto 3 is the Chinese automaker's all-electric SUV designed for the Indian market with a focus on technology, range, and modern design. Launched in India in October 2022, the Atto 3 represents BYD's premium offering in the mid-size EV segment. In 2025, the Atto 3 received a model year update that brought in ventilated front seats and an upgrade to a lithium iron phosphate (LFP) low-voltage battery, enhancing both comfort and durability. It also supports vehicle-to-load (V2L) capability, offering greater utility in off-grid or emergency scenarios.

The BYD Atto 3 was first launched in India in October 2022. On March 11, 2025, BYD launched the MY25 update for the SUV, bringing in ventilated front seats and an upgrade to the LFP low-voltage battery.
The BYD Atto 3 is available in three trims: Dynamic, Premium, and Superior. Prices range between Rs. 24.99 lakh and Rs. 33.99 lakh, ex-showroom. All variants share the same core design and platform but differ in battery size, feature set, and charging capabilities. The entry-level variant is paired with a smaller battery pack, while the higher-spec trims receive the larger capacity unit along with a more extensive features list.
The Atto 3 features LED headlamps with integrated DRLs, linked by an illuminated strip below a brushed aluminium grille. Electrically adjustable and foldable wing mirrors with heating functionality, a roof-mounted spoiler, and a continuous LED light bar connecting the rear lamps complete the SUV’s profile. It rides on 18-inch alloys.
The Atto 3’s cabin includes a dual-tone dashboard with a centrally mounted 12.8-inch infotainment, which can be rotated to switch between portrait and landscape orientations. The feature list includes a panoramic sunroof, wireless phone charging, an air purifier, four USB ports, 31-colour ambient lighting, powered front seats, keyless entry with push start, and NFC card-based access. Audio is delivered through an eight-speaker sound system, and visual assistance is provided by a 360-degree camera. The SUV also includes a digital driver's display and a powered tailgate in higher variants.
The Atto 3 is powered by a single electric motor delivering 204 bhp and 310 Nm of torque. The base variant is equipped with a 49.92 kWh battery pack offering an ARAI-certified range of 468km, while the mid and top variants use a 60.48 kWh battery with a claimed range of 521km. The vehicle supports both AC and DC charging. The 7.2 kW AC charger is suitable for home installations, while DC fast charging is available in two configurations—70 kW for the base model and 80 kW for the higher trims. All variants are capable of charging from 0 to 80 per cent in approximately 50 minutes using compatible DC chargers.
Boot capacity is rated at 440 litres, while the ground clearance is 175 mm (unladen).

The BYD Atto 3 comes with seven airbags, anti-lock braking system (ABS), electronic stability control, and a tyre pressure monitoring system. There is a 360-degree camera system with a 3D holographic projection The SUV also features a Level 2 ADAS that includes adaptive cruise control, automatic emergency braking, blind spot monitoring, and rear cross-traffic alert. In terms of crash safety, the Atto 3 has secured a five-star rating from both Euro NCAP and Australian NCAP.
