Overpriced Parts

Bike cost over 20 lakh ex-showroom, but small rubber seals and plastic trim quality feel cheap. Replacement parts cost fortune and take months to import from UK. Very dissatisfied.

Bad Offroad Weight

Terrible offroad experience due to top heavy nature when fuel tank is full. Dropped bike on small trail and lifting it up single handedly is almost impossible. Avoid if beginner.

Suspension Bug

Showa semi active suspension sensor showed error code twice on highway trip. Replacement under warranty took endless follow-ups with Triumph service team. Unreliable electronics.

Okay Ownership

Great build and highway stability. Mileage is around 16 Kmpl. Maintenance charges are steep and spare parts availability in tier-2 cities takes considerable waiting time.

Bad Mileage Cost

Real world fuel economy is terrible, barely getting 12 kmpl in combined riding. High maintenance bill along with expensive insurance makes ownership cost insanely high. Not worth the money.

High Repair Cost

Triumph Tiger 1200 is way too heavy for daily riding. The engine heat in city traffic is unbearable on legs. Spare parts are ridiculously expensive in India and service network is very poor outside major metros.

Poor City Ride

Gearbox quickshifter is clunky between first three gears. Heavy clutch lever causes severe wrist pain during city traffic jams. Engine heat management is poorly designed for Indian summers.

Fair Performer

Shaft drive is zero maintenance and lighting is great. However engine vibration creeps into handlebars above 6000 RPM and seat cushion feels firm on full day touring.

The 30 litre fuel tank on Explorer gives huge range, but makes motorcycle feel top heavy when filled fully. Good feature set but pricey maintenance overall.
