The Suzuki Avenis 125 marks the brand’s entry into the sporty 125cc scooter segment, offering a performance-oriented alternative to the more commuter-focused Access 125 and the maxi-scooter-styled Burgman Street 125. Designed with sharp, angular styling and equipped with modern features, the Avenis 125 is aimed at younger riders who prioritise sportiness, practicality, and connected technology. For 2024, the scooter has been updated to meet OBD2-A and E20 compliance norms, aligning it with the latest regulatory standards and fuel compatibility in India.
The Suzuki Avenis is priced from ₹93,200 to ₹94,000 (both ex-showroom).
The Suzuki Avenis was launched in India on November 18, 2021, to take on sporty scooters such as the TVS NTorq and the Honda Dio.
The Suzuki Avenis is available in three variants, which are standard, Race Edition, and Special Edition. There are six colour options, which are Pearl Glacier White, Pearl Mira Red, Champion Yellow No. 2, Glossy Sparkle Black, Metallic Sonic Silver/Metallic Triton Blue, Metallic Mat Black No.2/Metallic Mat Titanium Silver HYR.
Feature-wise, the Avenis 125 is equipped with a full LED lighting system for both headlamp and tail lamp, enhancing visibility and modern appeal. It also includes a fully digital LCD instrument cluster that offers a range of readouts such as speedometer, odometer, tachometer, and fuel gauge. Bluetooth connectivity is integrated into the console, allowing access to functions like call and SMS alerts, battery status, and overspeed notifications. Additional practical elements include a USB charging port, external fuel filler cap, and dual utility hooks, which improve convenience for everyday use.
Powering the Avenis 125 is a 124.3cc single-cylinder, air-cooled, BS6-compliant engine. This motor, also found in the Access 125 and Burgman Street 125, produces a peak power output of 8.5 bhp at 6,750 rpm and 10 Nm of torque at 5,500 rpm. The engine is paired with a Continuously Variable Transmission (CVT), which delivers smooth and linear acceleration suitable for urban conditions.
The suspension setup on the Avenis consists of telescopic front forks and a single rear monoshock. For braking, the scooter features a front disc and rear drum arrangement, supported by a Combined Braking System (CBS).
The engine has been updated to support E20 fuel compatibility, enabling it to run on petrol blends containing up to 20 per cent ethanol. Moreover, it features an onboard diagnostics (OBD2-A) system that detects and alerts the rider about potential issues through the instrument cluster.
The Suzuki Avenis offers an ARAI-claimed mileage of 55 kmpl. Real-world fuel efficiency figures may vary depending on the road conditions and riding style.
The Suzuki Avenis 125 has a kerb weight of 106 kg, a seat height of 780 mm, and a ground clearance of 160 mm.
The Suzuki Avenis 125 competes in a crowded 125cc scooter market in India. Its closest rival is the TVS NTorq 125.
