The Honda Rebel 500 has been officially introduced in the Indian market as part of Honda's international cruiser portfolio. Positioned as a premium mid-capacity cruiser, the motorcycle will be retailed through Honda’s BigWing Topline dealerships located in Gurugram, Mumbai, and Bengaluru. Bookings are open and deliveries began in June 2025. With its launch, Honda aims to tap into the growing demand for relaxed, city-friendly motorcycles that also offer adequate highway capability.
The Rebel 500 price is listed at ₹5.12 lakh (ex-showroom) and it will be offered in a single variant. It will be sold exclusively through the limited BigWing Topline dealership network in Gurugram, Mumbai, and Bengaluru.
Honda launched the Rebel 500 in India on May 19, 2025.
The Rebel 500 is offered in a single variant, priced at ₹5.12 lakh (ex-showroom). It is sold exclusively through a limited BigWing dealership network in select metro cities. No additional variants or custom configurations are being introduced at the time of launch, with the motorcycle available only in a solo-plus-pillion seating format.
The design of the Rebel 500 follows a stripped-back bobber theme, characterised by a raked-out fuel tank, minimal bodywork, and wide handlebars. The lighting system is fully LED, including the round headlamp, which contributes to its retro aesthetic. The cockpit features an inverted LCD display that provides essential information such as speed, gear position, and fuel level. While aesthetic modifications are minimal, the low seat height and compact proportions are aimed at enhancing ease of handling for a broad rider demographic.
At the heart of the bobber lies a 471 cc, liquid-cooled, parallel-twin engine. This unit produces 45.5 bhp at 8,500 rpm and a peak torque of 43.3 Nm at 6,000 rpm. The engine features an 8-valve DOHC layout and is mated to a 6-speed transmission. Power delivery has been tuned to favour low and mid-range torque, making it suitable for urban riding and steady highway cruising. The exhaust system is short and positioned low, in keeping with the compact and functional nature of the motorcycle.
The motorcycle is built around a tubular steel frame. It has telescopic forks at the front and dual shock absorbers from Showa at the rear. The Rebel 500 is equipped with a 296 mm front disc and a 240 mm rear disc with dual-channel ABS.
The Honda Rebel 500 in India enters a relatively narrow segment of premium mid-capacity cruisers. While direct competition is limited, it goes up against the likes of the Kawasaki Eliminator and the Benelli 502C.
