The Hero Splendor Plus Xtec is a more feature-rich version of the popular Splendor commuter bike and builds on the nameplate’s reputation for reliability, affordability, and ease of maintenance.
The Hero Splendor series has been present in the Indian two-wheeler market since the 1990s and was among the top choices for simplicity and practicality. Over the years, the range has been updated with modern tech and styling to stay competitive in the market.
The Xtec variant introduces modern amenities like a fully digital console and Bluetooth connectivity while retaining the functional, commuter-focused nature of the original model. While the design remains mostly unchanged, including the boxy headlamp and flat seat, the additions of LED DRL and new body graphics help distinguish it from the regular Splendor Plus.
The Hero Splendor Plus Xtec price starts from ₹83,251 (ex-showroom). The motorcycle is offered in two main variants, with the base drum brake model priced at ₹83,251 (ex-showroom), while the disc brake variant is available at ₹86,551 (ex-showroom). Hero MotoCorp also offers the Splendor Plus Xtec 2.0 as a standalone model equipped with additional updates, priced at ₹86,001 (ex-showroom). This model is however limited to a drum brake setup.
The Splendor Plus Xtec was introduced in May 2022 as a higher-spec variant of the Splendor family, featuring a digital instrument cluster and smartphone connectivity. A disc brake variant was launched later that year to expand the lineup.
In 2024, the brand launched the Splendor Plus Xtec 2.0 with LED units and refreshed colour options, further improving its appeal in the commuter segment.
The Splendor Plus Xtec is currently offered in two variants, drum and disc, while the Xtec 2.0 is available only with a drum brake setup. The standard Xtec is available in three main colour schemes: Black Sparkling Blue, Black Tornado Grey, and Red Black. The base variant with drum brakes also comes in an exclusive Pearl Fadeless White option. The Xtec 2.0 comes with Noble Red, Matte Grey, and Black Heavy Grey.
The bike delivers an ARAI-claimed mileage of 70 kmpl. Real-world fuel economy may vary depending on road conditions and riding style.
The Hero Splendor Plus Xtec uses the same 97.2 cc single-cylinder, air-cooled engine as the standard Splendor. It produces 7.91 bhp at 8,000 rpm and 8.05 Nm of torque at 6,000 rpm, paired with a four-speed constant mesh gearbox. The engine features xSens fuel-injection technology that improves combustion efficiency. The suspension setup includes telescopic hydraulic forks up front and five-step preload adjustable shock absorbers at the rear. The braking hardware varies between variants: a 130 mm drum setup is standard on the base variant, while the disc variant features a 240 mm front disc.
One of the primary updates on the Xtec model is the addition of a fully digital instrument cluster with Bluetooth connectivity. The unit supports call and SMS alerts and includes other readouts such as real-time mileage and service reminders. The motorcycle also features a side-stand engine cut-off, low fuel indicator, USB charging port, and i3S idle start-stop tech for fuel conservation. Chrome detailing, updated graphics, and body-coloured mirrors help add to the aesthetic appeal while preserving the classic styling cues that Splendor users are familiar with.
At present, there are no official offers listed for the Hero Splendor Plus Xtec. Customers are advised to check with their nearest dealership for potential dealer-level discounts, exchange bonuses, or finance schemes.
The Hero Splendor Plus Xtec competes in the budget commuter motorcycle segment, where it goes up against rivals like the Honda Shine 100, Bajaj Platina 100, and the TVS Sport.
