Hero HF Deluxe: Overview

The Hero HF Deluxe serves as a fuel-efficient commuter motorcycle positioned above the entry-level HF 100 in Hero MotoCorp’s portfolio. It is intended for everyday riders who prioritise durability, low running costs, and long-term dependability in their commute. Powered by a refined 97.2 cc engine, the HF Deluxe features practical equipment and a marginally more premium visual appeal compared to its base sibling. Offered in four variants and five dual-tone colour options, it combines proven mechanical reliability with modern additions such as the i3S idle stop-start system and xSens fuel-injection technology to enhance efficiency and convenience. The HF Deluxe remains one of Hero’s strongest-selling and most recognised budget motorcycles in India.

Hero HF Deluxe: Price

The Hero HF Deluxe price starts from ₹55,992 (ex-showroom) for the base variant that comes with minimal features. The variant with a kick starter is listed at ₹59,792 (ex-showroom), while the self-start version costs ₹64,999 (ex-showroom). The top-spec i3S-equipped variant is priced at ₹68,485 (ex-showroom). These prices reflect the inclusion of various features and conveniences that scale up with each higher variant.

Hero HF Deluxe: Launch Date

The BS6-compliant Hero HF Deluxe was last updated on December 31, 2019, when it received key mechanical and feature upgrades to meet the new emission norms. Along with engine refinements, Hero also introduced the i3S idle stop-start system in the lineup. This was followed by periodic cosmetic refreshes and variant adjustments in subsequent years to maintain its relevance in the 100cc commuter segment.

Hero HF Deluxe: Variants & Colours

Hero offers the HF Deluxe in four main variants—Base, Kick Start, Self-Start, and i3S. While the base variant is offered in a single Black and Accent colour scheme, the other variants are available in four additional dual-tone paint options: Black Grey Stripe, Sports Red Black, Black Nexus Blue, and Candy Blazing Red. Across the range, all variants feature alloy wheels as standard, with mechanical and feature upgrades depending on the variant tier.

Hero HF Deluxe: Mileage

The Hero HF Deluxe is known for its high fuel efficiency, with an ARAI-certified mileage figure of 70 kmpl. Real-world fuel economy may vary depending on road conditions and riding style. The inclusion of Hero’s i3S idle stop-start system on select variants enhances fuel savings by turning off the engine when idling in traffic.

Hero HF Deluxe: Specs & Features

The HF Deluxe is equipped with Hero’s xSens Programmed Fuel Injection system, a sensor-based fuel management setup designed to optimise combustion, throttle response, and efficiency. This system aims for smoother power delivery and improved cold starts.

Additional amenities include an all-weather electric start system, a side-stand engine cut-off, and a fall-safe engine kill feature. A USB charging port is offered as an optional accessory. While the motorcycle retains a basic analogu instrument cluster, its ergonomics are commuter-friendly, with a single-piece seat, upright handlebar position, and neutral footpeg placement.

Hero HF Deluxe: Engine & Performance

The HF Deluxe uses a 97.2 cc, air-cooled, single-cylinder engine that is BS6-compliant and tuned for economy and reliability. It produces 7.91 bhp at 8,000 rpm and 8.05 Nm of peak torque at 6,000 rpm. The engine is paired to a four-speed gearbox and is known for its low-end torque delivery, making it suitable for city riding and stop-go traffic conditions.

The bike rides on 18-inch alloy wheels with 130 mm drum brakes at both ends. Hero’s Integrated Braking System (IBS) is standard, helping to distribute braking force evenly for added safety. Suspension duties are handled by telescopic hydraulic forks up front and two spring-loaded hydraulic shock absorbers at the rear.

Hero HF Deluxe: Offers & Deals

As of now, Hero MotoCorp is not offering any official discounts or promotional deals on the HF Deluxe. However, prospective buyers are encouraged to check with local dealerships for region-specific schemes, which may include cash discounts, exchange bonuses, or low-interest finance options.

Hero HF Deluxe: Rivals

The Hero HF Deluxe competes in the budget 100-110 cc commuter segment and goes up against rivals such as the Bajaj CT100, TVS Sport, and Honda CD 110 Dream.

Hero HF Deluxe Expert Review

Pros

Cons

Lacks modern featuresNo disc brake as an option

Hero MotoCorp has launched the more affordable variant of the HF Deluxe BS 6 motorcycle in the Indian market. The new HF Deluxe gets a kick-starter instead of the electric-start feature.

The Hero HF Delux is already one of the most-selling entry-level motorcycles in the country and at such a significant lower pricing, it is poised to gain even more popularity.

Like the rest of the HF Deluxe range, even it gets the same 100 cc single-cylinder engine which features fuel-injection technology. The company claims that with this switch, there has been 9% increment in the overall fuel-efficiency of the bike. At the same time, the overall power output has gone down slightly to 7.49 PS as against 8.36 PS on the previous BS 4-spec motorcycle. The peak torque rating of 8.05 Nm remains unchanged but the torque now arrives higher in the rev range at 6,000 rpm.

As per official claims, the engine now also delivers better performance and is about 6% quicker in terms of acceleration. The bike also gets company's i3S (idle start-stop system) technology.

Apart from the kick-start feature, the rest of the bike remains identical to the electric-start variants which were launched previously.

The Hero HF Deluxe kick-start BS 6 locks horns with the Bajaj CT100 motorcycle which continues to remain the most affordable offering in the segment at a retail price tag of ₹41,293.*
