The Ducati DesertX is an adventure touring motorcycle positioned in the premium ADV segment in India. Launched on 12th December 2022, the DesertX combines rugged styling, long-travel suspension, and cutting-edge technology, making it suitable for both challenging terrains and long-distance touring. Its design draws inspiration from Dakar rally bikes, offering a distinctive presence while integrating rider-focused ergonomics for comfort during extended journeys.
The Ducati DesertX is offered in three variants: the standard model priced at ₹18.33 lakh, the mid-spec Discovery variant priced at ₹21.78 lakh, and the top-spec Rally variant priced at ₹23.71 lakh (all prices ex-showroom). This pricing reflects the premium features and advanced mechanicals on offer across the range.
Ducati launched the DesertX in India on 12th December 2022, marking the brand’s entry into the hardcore adventure segment in the country.
The DesertX is available in three trims – STD, Discovery, and Rally – catering to varying levels of touring and off-road requirements. While Ducati has not disclosed the full colour palette for India in this data, globally, the DesertX is offered in distinct finishes that enhance its rugged and sporty appeal.
Fuel efficiency for the Ducati DesertX varies based on riding conditions, though as an ADV motorcycle, it is engineered to deliver competitive range suitable for both city commutes and off-road expeditions.
Powering the DesertX is a 937 cc Testastretta L-Twin engine that produces 110 bhp at 9,250 rpm and 92 Nm at 6,500 rpm. The motor is paired with a 6-speed gearbox for seamless power delivery. Built on a lightweight trellis frame, the motorcycle uses long-travel suspension designed to absorb rough terrain without compromising stability.
Feature highlights include a 5-inch TFT display with Bluetooth connectivity, all-LED lighting, and six riding modes – Enduro, Rally, Sport, Wet, Touring, and Urban. Riders can also choose between four power modes: Full, High, Medium, and Low. Safety equipment includes cornering ABS, Ducati Traction Control, wheelie control, and cruise control.
The DesertX’s chassis setup ensures excellent ground clearance, while the seat height and kerb weight are balanced for both off-road confidence and long-distance comfort.
Ducati India is offering ₹1.5 lakh store credit on the DesertX Rally, valid until August 31.
The Ducati DesertX competes with other premium adventure motorcycles such as the Honda CRF1100L Africa Twin, Triumph Tiger 900 Rally, and BMW F 850 GS
