The Bajaj Pulsar 150 is among the most recognisable and longest-running models in India’s 150cc motorcycle segment. Originally launched as a performance-oriented machine, the Pulsar 150 has evolved into a value-driven commuter bike, offering a balance between sporty character and everyday practicality. The current version caters primarily to riders seeking a reliable daily-use motorcycle with tried-and-tested mechanicals and the familiar Pulsar design.
Available in two variants and three colour options, the Pulsar 150 continues to retain its popularity in Bajaj Auto’s portfolio despite newer entrants and rising competition. It is powered by a 149.5cc BS6-compliant engine and gets updated features such as a digital instrument cluster with Bluetooth support. The motorcycle remains a consistent performer in monthly sales, with Bajaj retailing over 16,000 units in June 2025 alone, including its closely related sibling, the Pulsar N150.
The Bajaj Pulsar 150 price starts from ₹1,13,734 (ex-showroom) for the Single Disc variant, which gets a disc brake up front and a drum unit at the rear. The Twin Disc variant, equipped with disc brakes at both ends, is listed at ₹1,20,819 (ex-showroom). On-road pricing may vary depending on city-specific taxes and additional dealer charges.
The most recent version of the Bajaj Pulsar 150 was launched in June 2024 as part of the company’s broader Pulsar platform updates. This iteration brought cosmetic revisions, a new Bluetooth-enabled digital instrument console, and enhanced information displays. The Pulsar 150 nameplate, however, traces its roots back to 2001, when Bajaj introduced the first-generation Pulsar lineup. The DTS-i-equipped Pulsar 150 officially arrived in 2005 and has remained a core part of Bajaj’s motorcycle lineup for nearly two decades.
The Pulsar 150 is available in two variants. The Single Disc variant is priced at ₹1,13,734 (ex-showroom) and features a disc brake at the front and a drum brake at the rear. The Twin Disc variant, priced at ₹1,20,819 (ex-showroom), gets front and rear disc brakes. Both variants come in three Sparkle Black-based colour options: Sparkle Black Red, Sparkle Black Blue, and Sparkle Black Silver.
The Pulsar 150 returns an ARAI-claimed fuel economy of 47.5 kmpl. Real-world mileage may differ depending on riding habits, terrain, and maintenance but typically stays within the 45–50 kmpl range, making it a practical option for daily commuters.
Powering the Pulsar 150 is a 149.5cc, single-cylinder, air-cooled engine that complies with BS6 Phase 2 emission norms. It produces 13.8 bhp at 8,500 rpm and 13.25 Nm of torque at 6,500 rpm. The motor is paired with a 5-speed gearbox. This setup offers refined performance for urban commuting with adequate torque delivery in the low and mid-range.
The bike uses a double cradle chassis supported by telescopic front forks and twin gas-charged rear shock absorbers. Braking hardware includes a 260 mm disc at the front and a 230 mm disc at the rear for the top variant. The rear brake is a 130 mm drum on the Single Disc variant. It rolls on 17-inch alloy wheels shod with tubeless tyres.
The 2024 update introduced a new digital instrument console, similar to that of the newer Pulsar N150 and N160 models. The cluster provides comprehensive ride data including gear position, real-time fuel efficiency, average fuel consumption, distance to empty, and a digital clock. It also supports Bluetooth connectivity via the Bajaj Ride Connect app, allowing for incoming call alerts and notification management.
As of July 2025, Bajaj Auto is not offering any factory-level promotions or festive discounts on the Pulsar 150. However, customers are encouraged to check with local dealerships, which may provide dealer-level benefits such as exchange bonuses or accessories as part of location-specific schemes.
The Bajaj Pulsar 150 competes in the 150cc commuter motorcycle segment against models such as the Honda Unicorn and TVS Apache RTR 160.
