The Tata Motors Nexon EV Max is available in two variants, XZ+ and XZ+ Lux. The exterior is similar to the Nexon EV with an update in the design of alloy along with a colour option. The EV sits on 16-inch alloy wheels, sports DRLs on the front face and an EV badge on the grille, side and rear trunk. The interior is identical to the lower-range model, however, a jewelled control knob has been added on the central console to select drive modes of the electric vehicle.
People were eagerly waiting for the C3 to launch in the Indian market as it is being manufactured in India with over 90 per cent localization level. The car is being offered in two variants, Live and Feel. There are two petrol engines on offer, a naturally aspirated unit and a turbocharged unit. Both the engines come mated to a manual gearbox and are three-cylinder, 1.2-litre units. As of now, there is no automatic transmission offered with the C3.
Scorpio-N is the latest SUV model from Mahindra and while it shares part of its name with the iconic Scorpio, it is put up as an entirely new model. The face, side, rear and cabin are different from the Scorpio which too has been rebadged as Scorpio Classic. It is available in five variants and with both petrol and diesel engines with manual and auto transmission.
Maruti Suzuki launched Brezza in June and it is offered in four variants. The latest model comes with an electric sunroof, which is a first in the Maruti Suzuki camp. The car also has a 9-inch infotainment screen with voice assist, a heads-up display, a 360-degree surround-view camera, a music system powered by Arkamys, wireless phone charging and overheating protection.
Kia Carens competes with rivals like Maruti Suzuki Ertiga, Maruti Suzuki XL6, and Toyota Innova Crysta. Kia has ditched its traditional Tiger nose grille in the Carens for a new design philosophy for the front profile. It gets a front grille with a chrome trim connecting the headlamps with LED projector lamps and LED daytime running lights integrated into them. The fog lamps come positioned as vertically stacked and sport LED units. The MPV is available in eight different exterior colour options. Its engine options include 1.4-litre petrol, 1.5-litre petrol and a 1.5-litre diesel motor. Transmission options include both manual and automatic units.
Jeep Meridian has been launched as a premium three-row SUV to compete against the likes of Toyota Fortuner. It has a premium cabin that is loaded with features and is powered by a 2.0- litre diesel motor that produces 168 hp and offers 350 Nm of torque. It comes with a sixspeed manual and a nine-speed auto transmission unit, and is a capable 4x4 machine.
Massively successful in the Indian market, MG ZS EV’s crossover design now looks like an electric version of the Astor. Offered in two variants, Excite and Exclusive, the ZS EV comes with a new battery pack which has a capacity of 50.3 kWh and a claimed driving range of 461 km. It can hit 100 kmph in 8.5 seconds which is quite impressive. The electric motor produces 176 hp of max power and 280 Nm of peak torque. Some incredible features have been added to the electric crossover as well.
Volkswagen Virtus is a midsize sedan that competes with rivals like Maruti Suzuki Ciaz, Skoda Slavia etc. The car has a horizontally slated front grille connecting the headlamps and sporting chrome trims. It comprises a dual tone interior with body coloured trims, engine start/stop button, front centre arm rest with storage space and rear arm rest with cup holders.
The XC40 Recharge is the all-electric version of the petrol-powered XC40. Similar to the standard XC40 in terms of appearance, it comes with a 78-kWh battery pack that has a driving range of 418 km as per the WLTP cycle. There are two electric motors, one is placed on the front axle while the other one is placed on the rear axle. The total power output is rated at 408 hp of max and peak torque is rated at 660 Nm. The SUV can hit a ton in 4.9 seconds and comes with Advanced Driver Aids System.
Maruti Suzuki unveiled the Grand Vitara, a mid-size SUV in July and it has been offered with two engine options. One will be a 1.5-litre mild hybrid engine while the other is a 1.5-litre strong hybrid engine. The former will be able to create a power output of 98 hp and 135 Nm and it will be offered with a five-speed manual gearbox or a six-speed automatic transmission while the latter will be able to produce power of 113 hp.
Mercedes-Maybach S-Class is the top-line premium variant of the S-Class sedan. It comes with Maybach accessories and distinctive design. The car gets a Maybach front grille that is different than the standard S-Class. Wheels, headlamps, taillights too have been distinctively designed. The car also comes with a special colour treatment.
The new Hyundai Tucson has been designed following the Korean automaker’s Sensuous Sportiness styling philosophy. It comes with a chrome-finished front grille flanked by vertically stacked LED headlamps and integrated LED daytime running lights. Other design elements include vertically stacked fog lamps, chrome trim above the air intake at the front bumper, blackened ORVMs, new alloy wheels, and LED taillights connected by a LED strip running horizontally through the centre of the tailgate.
Skoda Slavia midsize sedan comes designed following the Czech auto manufacturer’s Bohemian Crystal styling philosophy. It gets a black vertically slated front grille and headlamps with LED projector units. Available in three trim options – Active, Ambition and Style, its engine churns out power in two different tunes – 113 hp and 147 hp.
Audi A8L comes as the flagship sedan from the German luxury car brand and it comes with a mildhybrid powertrain. The Audi A8L luxury sedan is available in two variants – Celebration and Technology. The car gets Audi’s signature front grille with chrome garnished mesh, headlamps with Matrix LED lighting technology and comes in 8 colour options.
Skoda Kodiaq comes with chrome garnished vertically slated front grille, flanked by LED projector headlamps and LED daytime running lights. The car gets black cladding on bumpers and lower side profiles. The seven-seater SUV is available in six different colour options – Lava Blue Metallic, Magic Blue Metallic, Moon White Metallic, Race Blue Metallic, Steel Grey Metallic and Graphite Grey Metallic.
Toyota Kirloskar launched the Glanza earlier this year. The model comes in variants called E, S, G and V. The top-of-theline variant, the Toyota Glanza V is available in both manual and AMT gearbox options. It sits on 16-inch alloy wheels, LED fog lamps, LED daytime running lights and UV-protected glass. In the interior, the Glanza V offers a nine-inch infotainment screen, premium Arkamys sound system, 360-degree camera and cruise control, among others.
