Apart from the name, the first-generation of Thar bears little resemblance to the second-generation Thar. The Mahindra Thar 2020 is bigger, bolder, and better built, with plenty of off-road capabilities and numerous powertrain options. The new Thar receives a considerable overhaul with its revised design, interior, drivetrain, underpinnings, and features.

Maruti Suzuki Fronx Maruti Suzuki Fronx was showcased for the first-time at the Auto Expo 2023 in Greater Noida. The Fronx is a compact SUV based on the Baleno hatchback and is a statement of intent from a company that is now betting big on the SUV body type. Fronx is under 4 meters in length which means it is eligible for tax benefits on such vehicles. But beyond its dimensions, Maruti Suzuki is betting on its young visual appeal and feature-rich cabin to strike a chord with urban buyers. Maruti Suzuki Fronx Price: Pricing for Maruti Suzuki Fronx is expected to start at around Rs 8 lakh (ex-showroom) and go up to around Rs 14 lakh (ex-showroom). Much like Jimny, Fronx will also be sold through the Nexa dealership chain of Maruti Suzuki. Maruti Suzuki Fronx Features: Maruti Suzuki Fronx features a sporty and aerodynamic silhouette that gives it a muscular stance, as well as NEXWave grille, crystal block LED DRLs and a progressive roofline. In the cabin, the top-end Fronx gets push button to start/stop system, automatic climate control, rear AC vents, fast charging sockets, touchscreen infotainment system, cruise control, heads-up display, 360-degree parking camera, wireless charger and connected technology. Tata Nexon 
 
Tata's Nexon is a stylish sub-four-meter small SUV. The Nexon is available in a variety of engine-gearbox configurations and can be acquired at a variety of price points. The Tata Nexon is the first Indian vehicle to receive a five-star safety rating from Global NCAP. The 2020 upgrade includes new aesthetics and BS6-spec engines.

Toyota Innova Crysta 
 
The Toyota Innova Crysta received a new facelift version in the second half of 2020. The new model has a price increase of Rs. 60,000 on the base trims and Rs. 70,000 on the top trims when compared to the pre-facelift version. Connected features on the Toyota Innova Crysta include real-time car tracking, geo-fencing, and last parked location. The most significant change is the addition of a new touchscreen infotainment system that includes Smart PlayCast and supports Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.

Hyundai Verna 
The sixth-generation Hyundai Verna is a major step up from the previous version of the mid-size sedan and offers several key updates. Offered in four trim levels, the latest Verna sports radically updated looks on the outside, is significantly larger than the version it replaces, has several new or enhanced in-cabin features and has an extensive safety list which includes ADAS. There is no diesel engine on offer but apart from the 1.5-litre naturally-aspirated petrol motor, there is now a turbo petrol engine as well.
 
A wide LED light bar between the head lights is the main highlight of the new Hyundai Verna. The sedan stands on 16-inch alloy wheels and has seen a bump up in length and wheelbase. There are LED tail lights at the back and a number of optional accessories at additional prices. In the cabin, the Verna gets a 10.25-inch infotainment screen that is connected to the driver display and is in a curved format. The front seats offer cooling as well as heating functionality, there is wireless mobile charging, powered driver seat and powered sunroof, among many other highlights.
 
The 1.5-litre motor offers 113 hp and 144 Nm of torque while the turbo motor bumps up power to 156 hp and torque to 253 Nm. There are three transmission choices.
 
Verna is offered in five single-tone and two dual-tone exterior colour options. The cabin sports two colour options as well.

The Comet EV gets a 17.3 kWh battery pack and has a single, rear-axle-mounted motor with a power output of 41 hp and peak torque of 110 Nm. It has a top speed of 100 kmph. The Comet EV gets three drive modes and comes in three single-tone and two dual-tone body colours. There are also body graphics available at additional cost. The cabin is done in a shade of grey and sports two 10.25-inch screens. Access to the rear seats is through a sliding front passenger seat. Comet EV is positioned as an urban mobility option for small families.

Maruti Suzuki Jimny
 
Maruti Suzuki Jimny officially touched down in its five-door format in India at Auto Expo 2023. While the three-door version of Jimny has been on sale in several global markets, India is the first to get the five-door version which offers an enhanced wheelbase for more cabin space. A lifestyle-oriented vehicle, the Jimny SUV targets a younger car-buying audience.
 
Maruti Suzuki Jimny Price:
 
Maruti Suzuki Jimny is expected to be priced from Rs 10 lakh (ex-showroom) onwards. The top and fully-loaded variant of Maruti Jimny could be at around Rs 18 lakh (ex-showroom).
 
Maruti Suzuki Jimny Features:
 
The Jimny five-door has been built on four essential ingredients - ladder frame chassis, ample body angles, three- link rigid axle suspension and ALLGRIP PRO (4WD) with low range transfer gear (4L mode). The vehicle claims to have the ability to chart all-terrains with ease and agility. In terms of design, Maruti Jimny has a boxy profile with circular head light units, vertical slat grille and large fenders. Maruti will offer Jimny in seven colour options – five single-tone and two dual-tone. In the cabin, Maruti Jimny gets a 9-inch Smart Play Pro+ infotainment system with HD display and wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity. Maruti Suzuki Jimny Performance:
 
Powering the Maruti Jimny is a K-series 1.5-litre engine with Idle Start Stop technology, which produces 2 77.1 kW power at 6000 rpm and offers 134.2 Nm of torque at 4000rpm. The engine comes mated to a five-speed manual as well as a four-speed automatic gearbox.
 
Maruti Suzuki Jimny Rivals:
 
Maruti Jimny locks horns against the Mahindra Thar. At its expected price point, it will have a straight-up battle against Mahindra Thar Rear-Wheel Drive. It will also take on the larger Force Gurkha SUV.

Honda HR-V Expected Launch Date 

 
Honda has unveiled the Honda HR-V, an all-new SUV based on the Civic's underpinnings. It is expected to launch in the latter half of 2022 in India. Honda's new design tenet will be followed in terms of design and appearance. The Honda HR-V has a 2610mm wheelbase and a 180mm ground clearance. 
 
 Honda HR-V Price: 

 
The HR-V is expected to be less expensive than the Civic, with a price range of Rs 12-16 lakhs. 
 
 Honda HR-V Features: 

 
The Honda HR-V features a big octagonal grille with an S-shaped mesh design, as well as a more visible and aggressive bumper with what appear to be artificial inlets at each corner. Instead of rounded components, the headlamps are a bit larger and squarer. The HR-V retains its classic rounded shape on the sides and is longer, with a redesigned rear door and more cargo space. The back appearance is also distinct, with a wider tailgate and substantially larger wraparound tail light units.  Honda HR-V Performance: 

 
In terms of powertrain options, the HR-V could get the same 1.8-litre petrol engine that powers the new Civic, paired with a CVT transmission alone. There will also be a diesel engine, based on the 120hp 1.6-litre from the CR-V. All of the engines will meet the new BS-VI emission standards. 
 
 Honda HR-V Capacity: 

 
The Honda HR-V, which will be sold in India, is believed to have a five-seat interior. It has a fuel capacity of 60-litres and boasts a boot space of 335-litres. 
 
 Honda HR-V Rivals: 
 
The Honda HR-V is a mid-size SUV that will compete with Hyundai's Creta, Nissan's Kicks, and Renault's Duster.
