TVS Apache RTR 180 
 
This is the bigger brother of the Apache RTR 160. TVS had worked on this bike to be a slight upgrade to the 160cc variant. 
Although both the 160 and 180 variants look almost the same, they are not exactly the same. 
 

TVS Apache RTR 180 Launch Dates: 
 
Since 2009, Apache’s RTR 180 model has been giving tough competition to many bikes of its class. 
Recent revisions have made the bike meaner and more powerful. The BS6 version of TVS Apache RTR 180 was launched in the year 2020.

Pricing of the BS6 version of RTR 180 is set at 1.2 Lakh Rupees and comes in only one variant. Kindly note that the price is according to ex-showroom, Delhi. 

 

 TVS Apache RTR 180 Design: 

 
The unique muscular design of the RTR 180 including a split grab-rail has been around since its initial launch in 2009. From then on, the design gave the newer updates a sharper look without compromising on the overall stance of the bike. 

The TVS RTR 180 is seen in T-Grey, Matte Blue, Gloss Black and Pearl White colour variants.

Apart from the lower weight that this bike has for its class, the seat height is also considerably lower.

Like every bike in the Apache series, TVS has equipped the RTR 180 with GTT (Glide Through Technology) which enables the bike to crawl through traffic just by using the clutch. The GTT allows the ECU to increase the RPM of the engine to assist the rider in heavy traffic conditions. 

Just like its 160 counterparts, the RTR 180 has a halogen headlamp, a semi-digital instrument cluster, LED DRLs and a tail lamp unit. Although the bike has disk brakes in the front and rear as standard, it only gets a single-channel ABS.

Without a doubt, the ‘RTR’ (Racing Throttle Response) technology of TVS has been giving Indian riders good racing experiences on such small-capacity bikes. 

The Race Tuned Fuel Injection (RT-Fi) engine provides quick acceleration too. 

A 177.4cc single-cylinder, the fuel-injected engine churns out 16.7 BHP at 8,500 RPM and 15.5 Nm torque at 7,000 RPM. Unlike the RTR 160, this bike is oil-cooled. The engine is mated to a 5-speed gearbox. 

 

 TVS Apache RTR 180 Mileage: 

 
A 12 litre fuel tank gives this bike a range of about 500 kilometers in one full tank. Several sources claim that the bike gives on an average of 38 to 45 kilometers a litre.

Honda Hornet as well as Bajaj’s Pulsar 180, Pulsar 180F, Pulsar NS200 and Avenger Street 180 are direct competitors to the Apache RTR 180 in terms of engine capacity.
