California-based Trion Supercars announced plans to build the Nemesis, an exceptional sports car designed to rival even the most impressive European models. If it makes it to production, the Nemesis will be powered by a twin turbo V8 engine with over 2,000hp, allowing the car to reach a top speed of over 435km/h and to accelerate from 0 to 100km/h in just 2.8 seconds.

In addition to extraordinary performance stats, the Nemesis will have an interior cabin that can comfortably accommodate tall drivers (up to 6'5' or 1.95 meters) and a trunk spacious enough for carrying luggage or golf clubs.

Founded by a group of designers and automotive engineers, Trion Supercars (TSC) is based in Los Angeles. The company's goal is to produce an American-made supercar that can compete with those from McLaren, Bugatti and Koenigsegg. The latter brand, based in Sweden, currently holds the record for the world's most powerful sports car with its One:1, which boasts 1,400hp. Within the US, the Nemesis's closest competitor would be the Hennessey Venom GT (twin turbo V8 with 1,244hp, 435km/h top speed).

For the time being, the Nemesis is merely in the preliminary stage, although TSC plans to produce a prototype within the coming months. Initial sketches for the supercar also indicate a 'Predator' mode, which would adjust the suspension height, alter the exhaust position and change the color of the interior lighting.
