Updated Etios, Liva launched

The updated models get quite a few cosmetic upgrades, including dual-tone interiors with beige trim, faux wood trim on the armrests, a height-adjustable driver's seat, adjustable front headrests (the Liva also gets adjustable rear headrests). Additional interior upgrades include new blue back-lighting for the instrument cluster, a new two-DIN music system with USB, AUX and remote, and new AC control panel with clean-air filters.

The exterior upgrades include a slightly modified grille, a new grey paint shade for both Etios and Liva, re-styled wing mirrors with turn indicators, re-styled taillamp inserts and slightly higher ground clearance for the Etios saloon.

Toyota has also launched the Liva TRD Sportivo as a regular variant (it was previously only a limited edition). It now comes with the Etios saloon's 90bhp 1.5-litre petrol motor instead of the old TRD Sportivo's 1.2-litre unit.

We had reported way back in August last year that Toyota would add this engine to the Liva lineup and also give cosmetic updates to the standard Etios and Liva. Because of the bigger engine, the new Liva 1.5 TRD Sportivo no longer qualifies for small car excise benefits, and is priced at ₹6.13 lakh,. Additional goodies for the TRD Sportivo variant include a special body kit, smoked alloy wheels, dual front airbags and ABS .

In addition to the Liva 1.5 TRD Sportivo, Toyota has also added a base J variant to the Etios saloon.
