The sportsbike hoping for an electrifying US debut

It might look like a prop stolen off the set of 'Minority Report' or from the latest installment of 'Judge Dredd' but this British-built electric-powered sportsbike is the real deal.
Called the Saietta R, it's built on a composite monocoque chassis -- just like an F1 car -- and can go from 0-60mph (100km/h) in 3.9 seconds.
Described by its makers, Agility, as a next-generation urban sportsbike, it uses a very cleaver suspension set-up for phenomenal handling especially in the corners and to make sure that things don't get a bit squeamish under heavy braking.

The bike is capable of covering 112 miles (180km) on a single charge, so it will keep up with the best of its gasoline-powered competitors around the city, but a pan-European tour would take a lot of planning.
However, once a suitable charging point has been found (the battery can be topped up via the mains) it should be at 100 percent in three-and-a-half hours.
Agility started limited production on the bike for UK customers in July where it retails for £13,975.00 (€16,867), but now the company is preparing to bring the Saietta R to the US. It will make its North American debut at the Clean And Cool Missions green technology showcase in Colorado this week.
