Tesla achieves almost perfect customer satisfaction score

Owners of the Tesla Model S have given the car a satisfaction score of 99 out of 100 in this year's Consumer Reports Customer Satisfaction Survey.
Like the JD Powers Reports, Consumer Reports' annual study -- which polls the opinions and records the experiences of over 350,000 US consumers who have bought a new car within the past three years -- is considered one of the most important and influential in the automotive industry. As such, this year's survey will no doubt bring another smile to Tesla CEO, Elon Musk's face. This week, Fortune named Musk its top person in business in 2013 and compared his focus, conviction and genius to that of the late Steve Jobs.

'Owners of the Tesla Model S gave it the highest owner-satisfaction score Consumer Reports has seen in years: 99 out of 100,' the magazine said of the survey, the full results of which will be published in January.
The near-perfect score meant that the Porsche Boxster, a car so well made that it usually comes out top in such surveys without breaking a sweat, finished second with a 'mere' 95 points while third place was tied: both the Porsche 911 (the Boxster's older, faster and significantly more powerful brother) and the plug-in hybrid Chevrolet Volt scored an impressive 91.
Across sector categories, the Audi A6 was named the best luxury sedan; the Mazda6 the best midsized sedan; the Subaru Forester won the SUV category; while the V8 Dodge Charger was victorious in the large sedan category; and the Volkswagen Golf TDI was named best compact car.
