Renault launches Scala at₹6.99 lakh
French car maker Renault on Friday launched its entry-level sedan Scala, the last of its range of five cars that it had promised to unveil in India by the end of this year.
Based on alliance partner Nissan's global success Sunny, Scala is priced at ₹6.99-7.85 lakh for the two petrol variants and at ₹8.69-9.57 lakh for the two diesel versions.

Renault saw its fortunes turn in India with its previous launch Duster that has got off to a flying start and now hopes there will be a rub off effect on the Scala as well. Its biggest hindrance, however, could be the Sunny, which has been present in the market for over a year and has been received well.
Renault sold less than 4,000 cars in fiscal 2011-12 but is targeting an over 9-fold increase in sales this year and an over 3-fold increase next year to cross 100,000 units per annum by 2013.
"We should be able to achieve these targets from these five cars alone," Nassif said.
