Qoros 3 first Chinese car with 5-star Euro NCAP safety rating

The Qoros 3 sedan has become the first automobile from a Chinese brand to obtain the maximum 5-star crash test safety rating from the European New Car Assessment Program (Euro NCAP). The Kia Carens MPV was also distinguished by the highest possible safety rating in the organization's latest round of crash tests.
In addition to the distinction of being the first Chinese car to earn 5 stars, the Qoros 3 achieved the highest overall score recorded by the Euro NCAP in 2013, at 88 percent. The sedan excelled most notably in the categories for adult passenger safety (95%) and child passenger safety (87%).

Also taken into account in the Euro NCAP rating is the inclusion of on-board safety systems, including anti-lock brakes, electronic stability control, emergency brake assist, front and side airbags, safety belt alerts for all passengers, and an automatic speed limitation system.
Arriving in Europe before 2014
The Qoros 3 is the first series production vehicle from the new Chinese brand. The compact sedan will be available with a choice of a standard or turbo 1.6L engine. The 126hp version allows acceleration from 0 to 100km/h in 11 seconds, compared to 9 seconds for the 156hp turbo engine. In both cases, the engine is coupled with a six-speed manual transmission, and a dual clutch transmission is available as an option. Qoros plans to introduce additional motors for the vehicle in 2014.
Inside the cabin, the Qoros 3 is equipped with a multimedia system controlled through an 8-inch touch screen on the center console. In addition to providing controls for the audio system, the touch screen will offer access to navigation services and car settings, as well as allow passengers to take phone calls and surf the internet, all through an easy-to-use interface.
The Qoros 3 will arrive in European dealerships before the end of 2013. The sedan is expected to be priced at less than €20,000.
