Mercedes-Benz bags 3 top World Car Awards at New York Auto Show this year
Mercedes-Benz has hogged all the limelight in the World Car Awards at the New York Auto Show this year by bagging three top awards, a report said.
While the company's C-Class drove grabbed the overall World Car of the Year award, the S-Class Coupe was named the World Luxury Car of the Year and the Mercedes-AMG GT picked up the World Performance Car gong, reported Stuff.co.nz.

Mercedes C-Class made its way from an initial entry list of 24 vehicles from around the world to a short list of 12 and then outdid the Ford Mustang and the Volkswagen Passat in the list of three finalists to bag the top position.
To be eligible, the vehicles had to become available for sale on at least two continents during the period beginning January 1, 2014 and ending May 31, 2015.
An international jury panel, comprising 75 top-notch automotive journalists from 22 countries around the world, selects vehicles and votes on them. Each member on the panel is appointed by the World Car Steering Committee on the basis of his or her expertise, experience, credibility, and influence.
Mercedes-Benz was the only car manufacturer to make it to the final round with five vehicles.
