Kia launches the CUB at Seoul Motor Show

Kia chose its home country to showcase its latest four-door compact luxury coupe concept.
The CUB is designed to be small on the outside yet somehow bigger on the inside. The designers have removed the car's central pillars, allowing the rearward-opening rear doors to touch the edges of the front passenger doors to create optimum cabin access and usable space.

A concept car aimed at city dwellers that need space, practicality and performance in equal measure, the CUB uses a twin-scroll turbo-charged 1.6-litre petrol engine good for a 0-100km/h time of 7.7 seconds and a top speed of 230km/h and similar to the powerplants already used across the carmaker's vehicle range.
Inside, four individual seats ensure greater comfort while many of the switches and buttons traditionally found on the instrument panel have been replaced by touch sensors -- simply wave a hand over an air vent to open or close it. The car's telematics systems can also be accessed via gestures: a camera in the cabin monitors the driver and activates services and settings based on well-defined motions. Another interesting feature is the car's steering wheel, which can monitor the driver's biorhythms.
