Kawasaki reveals Ninja H2 in Milan

After stirring up excitement at Intermot with the track-focused Ninja H2R, Kawasaki has unveiled the road-going Ninja H2 at EICMA in Milan. The brand also presented several other new models, including an entry-level 300cc roadster.

The latest member of the Ninja family has 200hp, compared to 310hp for the Ninja H2R track model. On top of stellar performances, the Ninja H2 offers several advanced technologies for improved safety in all types of driving conditions. This includes Kawasaki's traction control (KTRC), intelligent anti-lock brakes (KIBS), and electronic steering damper, among others. The motorcycle's upside down cartridge forks and transmission feature technologies developed for motocross and supercross racing and offered for the first time on a production model.

Each Ninja H2 motorcycle is assembled by hand by a single builder, a detail that bolsters its high-end credentials. The first models are due to ship in spring 2015.

The other major new model presented by Kawasaki in Milan is the Z300, a 300cc entry-level roadster designed for a younger generation of riders. The model has the same 296cc straight-twin engine as the Ninja 300.

The Vulcan S arrives in Europe

EICMA also set the stage for the European premiere of Kawasaki's Vulcan S, which is already available in the North American market. The new entry-level motorcycle offers seven different rear suspension settings, allowing adjustments for different weight loads. The foot pegs are also adjustable, in the back and at the front, just like the brake and clutch levers. Overall, the Vulcan S is built to deliver optimal handling for riders of all sizes thanks to a relatively low center of gravity and enhanced load distribution. The engine is the same 649cc parallel twin seen on the Versys 650 and ER-6n/f, but slightly modified to suit the Vulcan S. The output is 61hp.

Finally, the Japanese manufacturer also presented the 2015 1400GTR, with a 1352cc four-cylinder inline engine. This latest edition of the sport touring motorcycle offers traction control (KTRC), tire pressure monitoring, a power mode selection, driving economy monitoring, heated handlebars and a 12V outlet.

The pricing and availability details of these new models will be announced at a later date.
