Hyundai to debut Intrado fuel-cell concept in 2014

Ahead of the 2014 Geneva Motor Show, opening March 6, Korean manufacturer Hyundai is placing the final touches on the Intrado, which it plans to unveil at the event. The new concept car is expected to stand out for its lightweight structure and next-generation fuel-cell system, which is streamlined compared to the current standard.
Hyundai has earned a reputation as something of a pioneer in the fuel-cell technology field. After debuting its ix35 Fuel Cell car in South Korea earlier this year, the brand plans to offer a fuel-cell version of its Tucson crossover in the US starting in 2014.
The Intrado will be the first Hyundai concept car inspired by the company's new 'Fluidic Sculpture 2.0' design theme. The name of the concept is derived from 'intrados,' a term applied to the underside of a plane's wing, which produces lift and allows the craft to fly. In keeping with this theme, the curves of the new concept are inspired by aviational architecture.
