Japanese car major Honda on Wednesday expanded its diesel offering with the re-launch of its Jazz hatchback and the unveiling of the new Mobilio multi-purpose vehicle.
The Jazz now gets a refreshed look, quite distinctive from the model that was discontinued almost a year back.
Apart from the 1.5litre i-DTEC engine, the new Jazz also borrows looks from the new City. The petrol version of the car uses the tried and tested 1.2 litre i-VTEC engine from the Brio and Amaze.

The petrol engine produces a peak power of 87bhp, while the diesel belts out around 100bhp. The new Jazz will be available in the second quarter of 2014.
The Jazz is a premium hatchback that will take on the Maruti Suzuki Swift, Hyundai i20, and Volkswagen Polo. It is expected to be priced between ₹6 and 8 lakh.
Honda also unveiled the seven-seater Mobilio which will take on the Maruti Ertiga, Chevrolet Enjoy and Mahindra Xylo. It too will have the 1.5litre i-DTEC engine and is likely to be priced competitively between ₹8 and 10 lakh.
Honda's diesel engines - first introduced in the Amaze last year followed by the City - have received a lot of appreciation in India.
'We have set a challenging sales target of 300,000 units annually by financial year 2017 and we are committed to support this expansion by introducing new products and technologies,' said Takanobu Ito, president and CEO, Honda Motor Company, Japan.
