Forthcoming Kawasaki Z1000 sportbikes 'ready to pounce'

Japanese manufacturer Kawasaki will present the next generation of the Z1000 motorcycle at EICMA (The International Motorcycle Exhibition) in Milan this November. According to a description from the brand's head of Motorcycle Design, the new model will have an awe-inspiring new design.
The forthcoming Z1000 aims to embody 'sugomi,' a Japanese word for the awe-inspiring aura of energy that radiates from a powerful person or object. Both in terms of appearance and performance, Kawasaki's engineers are designing the new motorcycle with this principle in mind, hoping to underscore the sensation of power and energy felt by the rider.

Keishi Fukumoto, head of Motorcycle Design at the company, explained that his team welcomed the challenge of taking a 'clean sheet approach to styling the new Z1000' and aimed to 'capture and distill the look and feel of a crouching predator getting ready to pounce.' Fukumoto also noted that the new design will be accompanied by 'refined engineering features and performance updates to reinforce the Z1000's position as the class-leading naked sportbike.'
The forthcoming Z1000 will be officially unveiled on November 5 at a press conference held at EICMA, which opens to the general public two days later.
The 71st International Motorcycle Exhibition (EICMA) is open November 7-10, 2013.
