Ford India sales up 16% in August
Car-maker Ford India on Saturday posted a 16.1% increase in total sales at 10,352 units in August in 2012.
The company had sold 8,916 units in the same month last year, Ford India said in a statement.
Ford's domestic sales went up by 6.2to 7,840 units in the month from 7,382 units in August 2011, it added.

Exports during the month stood at 2,512 units as compared to 1,534 units in August in 2011, up 63%.
Commenting on the sales performance, Ford India President and managing director, Michael Boneham said, 'It's wonderful to see consumer sentiment improving as we approach the festive season, and we are confident we are ready to meet the growing demand for cars during this period'.
While market conditions have been challenging in recent months because of rising petrol prices, high inflation and rising interest rates, Ford remains focused on delivering its 'One Ford' plan to produce fuel-efficient, safe, and fun to drive vehicles which customers want and need, he added.
