The Enjoy will compete directly with Mahindra Bolero, Xylo and Maruti Ertiga and also in some cases with the Toyota Innova.
'The Enjoy will compete in one of the fastest-growing segments in India. We expect that this model will be a success considering its attributes and pricing,' said Lowell Paddock, president and managing director, GM India.
'SAIC in China is renowned for making cars that are extremely competitive to produce and that has helped us in pricing this vehicle aggressively.'
The Enjoy is available in both petrol and diesel options.
It is powered by a 1.4-litre petrol engine and the price ranges from ₹ 5.49 lakh and ₹ 6.99 lakh while the diesel variant has a 1.3-litre engine tagged at ₹ 6.69 lakh and ₹ 7.99 lakh. It will have both 7 and 8-seater options.
'We are basically targeting big families in cities as well as small towns,' said Paddock.
He, however, ruled out the possibility of Enjoy eating into the sales of the Tavera.
