EICMA: Honda targets young riders with 6 new bikes

At the Milan Motorcycle Show (EICMA), Honda is presenting no less than six new bikes launching in the European market during 2014. The majority of these models will be equipped with double clutch transmission (DCT) and will be geared towards young consumers looking for a fun yet practical ride.

The new Hondas include a trio of custom cruisers -- the CTX1300, CTX700 and CTX700N -- geared towards less experienced riders thanks to their low center of gravity and laid-back seating position. Destined for the European market, where licensing requirements often vary between low and full powered motorcycles, these bikes' low overall power (<35kw) is a key selling point for riders with a basic motorcycle license.

The brand has also introduced the more aggressive CB650F and CBR650F (naked and with full fairing, respectively), both powered by a new 86hp in-line four cylinder engine.

In addition, Honda introduced a special edition of its CBR1000RR Fireblade SP, equipped with Ohlins suspensions and Brembo brakes for even more impressive performances at the race track.

Finally, the latest versions of the Integra, NC700S and NC700X now also have dual-clutch transmission, which was launched on the VFR1200F in 2010. The technology allows drivers to switch between manual mode and two automatic modes.
