BMW i8 wins UK Car of the Year
BMW's hybrid electric sports car, the i8, has clinched both Performance Car of the Year and the overall top prize at the UK Car of the Year Awards 2015.
It's two years in a row for the German manufacturer, whose i3 supermini won the accolade in 2014.
Judges praised the i8's fusion of looks, performance, and ecological nature.
Fourteen of the award's 27 judges chose the BMW i8 ahead of any other category winners.

The Citroën C4, Best Small Hatch, was the next in line, with Best City Car category winner, the Renault Twingo, in third.
The European Car of the Year Awards are to be announced on March 2 at the Geneva Motor Show, where both the C4 and Twingo are among seven finalists, and BMW's 2-Series Active Tourer is also in the running.
The World Car of the Year Awards follow on April 2.
