Amazon brings its cloud player to Ford cars
Online retail giant Amazon's Cloud Player is the latest music streaming service to gain support from Ford's SYNC in-car telematics platform.
The support means that drivers can now access their entire Amazon Cloud Player music library while in their cars and can operate the service via simple voice commands.
And while the addition of Amazon to Ford's SYNC platform is welcome, Amazon is by no means the first company to offer music to Ford owners. SYNC already supports Pandora and Rhapsody and can play any mp3 files that happen to be on the driver's smartphone.

At this time, only Ford cars equipped with SYNC Applink can support the Cloud Player service -- currently the 2013 Ford Fiesta, Mustang, Focus, E-Series, C-MAX Hybrid, Expedition, Fusion, F-150 and Super Duty models. The Amazon mp3 app --only available on Android handsets -- also has to be installed on the driver's smartphone in order for the service to work.
