MG Hector Tomahawk EV teased again ahead of August 26 launch
MG Hector Tomahawk EV to herald new ADAPT platform.
JSW MG Motor India has grabbed a strong position in the Indian electric passenger vehicle market with its range of EV offerings, like the Windsor EV, Comet EV and ZS EV, along with others. Now, the automaker is ready to launch another electric SUV, in the form of the MG Hector Tomahawk.
Slated to launch on August 26, the MG Hector Tomahawk EV will be based on the ADAPT platform. Upon launch, it will take on rivals such as the Mahindra XEV 9S, among others. Ahead of its imminent launch, the SUV has been teased again.

The upcoming model will be the automaker's first all-electric SUV based on the new modular architecture. Interestingly, this platform has been designed to do more than just support battery-powered vehicles. MG has already confirmed that this platform can support EVs, range-extended EVs, plug-in hybrid EVs, and hybrid EVs.
The MG Hector Tomahawk EV is expected to be the rebadged version of the Wuling Starlight 560, reworked for Indian conditions. It will get three-row seating, connected-car technology and MG's newer design language. The latest teaser doesn't reveal much but shows the silhouette of the SUV. The two-row LED daytime running lights integrated into the headlamps and LED taillights have been teased in the latest video. The Hector Tomahawk EV is expected to get MG-specific alloy wheels, sleek window lines, body cladding and styling around the D-pillar.
Inside the cabin, the Hector Tomahawk EV will have a three-row cabin layout, with bench seats expected for the second and third rows. Some variants could get captain seats in the middle row. There will be a large central touchscreen infotainment system.
The OEM has not specified the powertrain specifications of the SUV. However, the international Starlight 560 uses a 69.2 kWh lithium iron phosphate battery paired with a front-mounted electric motor producing 201 bhp and 310 Nm of torque. Its claimed range is up to 530 km on a full charge.
